Belmont at the Big A Race 9 • Pebbles Stakes (Grade 3) • 3YO Fillies • 5:13 EST A graded stakes race going a mile on the turf and Chad Brown has multiple entries–big surprise. 8 Bahamian Club’s pedigree fits nicely here for sure; she’s 1-for-1 going 8 furlongs on grass. Today is her first start off Lasix. 12 Gina Romantica is also 1-for-1 lifetime going a mile on turf. 4 Faith in Humanity is Chad Brown’s third entry here and finished second in her lone start at today’s surface and distance. I’d generally recommend betting the highest price of the Chads, but there are other to consider in her as well. 7 Breeze Easy gets Javier Castellano in the irons today for trainer Christophe Clement. Last time Javier rode her, she finished a game second place. One other that might be ripe for the upset is Todd Pletcher’s 1 Majestic Glory, an import who gets John Velazquez in the saddle for the first time. Third start of 2022 and first under Pletcher would need to improve, but couldn’t you see it happening for this trainer/jockey combo?
