Assiniboia Downs Race 4 Claiming NW3L 3YO+ 10:05 EST Interesting field here going 6 furlongs on the dirt tonight in Winnipeg. What to make of the 4 Big Time Gizmo wheeling back less than two weeks after taking a 5.5 furlong race against lesser company is going to shape my thoughts on the race. I see the price as an underlay, so I’ll look elsewhere to find value. The 5 Stone Cafe might be live, second off the bench. But trainer Elton Dickey is 0-for-14 second off a layoff of 180+ days. I don’t see too much that separates him from the 7 Flat Out Love sitting at 15-1 on the morning line. The trainer/jockey combination of Jerry Gourneau and Antonio Whitehall hit at a 21% clip, and Whitehall jumps off the 1 Pucker for today’s race.
The 1 and 2 Yesitsmejohnny G look to battle up front. It is important to note that if either of these horses scratch, the other will be the lone speed and may just wire the field. I’m looking for the 7 to fire at a price.
