Race 9 • 4:05 p.m. ET A slow bunch going a mile on grass today at GP. 1 Ramadhaan projects to be on the lead and could take the field gate to wire with the right ground-saving trip. He also adds blinkers for the first time to make it a little more interesting. First time blinkers also for 5 Spirit of Power. Trainer Saffie Joseph’s record adding blinkers doesn’t inspire much, but he does have a positive ROI in 2021-22 when paired with jockey Edgard Zayas. The horse I’m most interested in is 6 Rich Gift. The pace projection has him sitting just off the leaders. Trainer James Toner has an ROI of $4.58 (sample size: 20) with horses going second off a layoff of 45-180 days. I don’t know if we’ll get the morning line of 20-1, but my fingers are crossed!
