Third day in a row capping race 7 on Gulfstream Park’s card.
Episode 15 of the podcast is out. We go over all the gray horses running at Fair Grounds, Gulfstream, and Tampa Bay Downs. And even find a few to bet on. [Amazon Music] [Apple Podcasts] [Spotify]
Gulfstream Park • Race 7 • 3:05 p.m. ET [PPs] I’m not betting against the Todd Pletcher-trained 7 Expressman, who I give a 50% chance of winning this race. Luis Saez jumps on board with Javier Castellano unavailable. This is not a downgrade. This horse has finished in the exacta in both career starts. Breeding suggests he will love the added furlong today. Single on top for me. Underneath, a couple of interesting angles:
Tyler Gaffalione–winning jockey of race #7 the last two days–is up for the first time on new gelding 8 Glider. This horse has shown very little since winning in January and goes off a lengthy layoff here as well.
Kentucky Derby winner Sonny Leon is up on 9 Chrome Republic (California Chrome). This closer probably doesn’t get enough speed to run into here, but I wouldn’t put it past him to get up for third or fourth.
6 Tallahatchiebridge cuts back from two turns to one today for trainer Saffie Joseph. This distance suits him better, and Junior Alvarado picks up the mount.
I’d be remiss not to mention that Irad Ortiz, Jr. is up today on 10 Black Belt for trainer Peter Walder. This horse has won two straight and three of his last five.
A DIFFERENT OPINION Carter Sargent–who had yesterday’s winner–likes 3 Mr Tito’s. And Mr Tito’s is a scratch! Oh well.

Best of luck!
